Rein (Clean), 2011

87 years ago, in March 1938, the so-called “Anschluss” took place — Nazi Germany annexed Austria, which became part of the 3rd Reich under the name Ostmark. One of the first “activities” after the (re)unification was the cleaning of the territory — the Nazis forced the Jews of Vienna to wash the streets. The “Rein” (Clean) installation consists of books made from dirty floorcloths, a ceramic bunny toilet brush holder, and a video poem in which I collected all the idioms in German that contain the word “rein” (clean)
