Spartacus, video, HD, 27:18 min, 2013. Dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto. Based on the soviet ballet “Spartak” (1954) by Aram Khachaturyan.

Before the Storm, video, full HD, 03:46, 2012. The film is based on Lenin’s article “Before the Storm” which tells about the First Russian Revolution of 1905. So it is a very short reenactment of the previous revolution. On the other hand it is taking place in today’s Moscow and labour migrants feature in the film, so it can be also a rehearsal of the future rebellion.

I am Spartacus, video, HD, 2011. In my film "I am Spartacus" I reconstruct a scene from Stanley Kubrick’s 1960 Spartacus. From Ancient Rome, action moves to today’s Moscow where the roles are played by labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan. In this scene, defeat is transformed into a moment of complete triumph. Defeated, anonymous slaves gain names. Each of them becomes Spartacus, and hence each can lead a future uprising.
